The second Local Action Plan (LAP) meeting

The second Local Action Plan (LAP) meeting of the project titled “Strengthening the Local Intervention Capacities for Climate Change in the Black Sea Region (LAP BLACK)” was successfully conducted in Sakarya on May 16, 2025. This initiative is implemented within the scope of the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, co-funded by the European Union.

The meeting convened a diverse group of stakeholders, experts, and local actors engaged in climate adaptation and regional cooperation across the Black Sea region. The agenda focused on advancing strategic planning and technical coordination toward local climate resilience.

Key components of the meeting included:

🔹 A review and assessment of developments achieved since the first LAP meeting;

🔹 A focused desk session on the prioritization of thematic indicator groups based on hazard-sector mapping, aligning technical tools with real-world vulnerabilities;

🔹 An evaluation of the data sets to be utilized in the upcoming climate risk analyses, followed by a structured Q&A session to clarify methodological approaches and data requirements.

The event served as a platform for productive dialogue, capacity strengthening, and methodological refinement, contributing significantly to the project’s overall goal of empowering local stakeholders in responding effectively to climate change impacts.
